Saline Middle School Hornet Highlights for Sunday, August 16, 2020

Principal's Message

This will be a year like no other!  We hope that this blog finds your family healthy, happy and safe!  We have been working diligently to accommodate schedules, to make changes for preferences, and in general, to be sensitive to the needs of our students in families.  We have been planning for technology pick-ups, warm welcomes to the building, picture day and everything else in between.  We know that you are anxious (we all are), but know that there are dedicated educators that have been working diligently in the best interest of your children.  We are truly in this together!

Those that know me know that I love to read to students about important relevant and historical topics that lead to very meaningful conversations.  Picture books are a great way to do that!  If you are so inclined, we would love to begin building our Saline Middle School Office Library!  Picture books may seem "young", but they are a great way to start important conversations and explain complex ideas and problems.  Here is a great article by Pernille Ripp about the benefits of picture books in the middle school classroom.  Thank you in advance!

Laura
